The Crude have a rich history for being a team for only one season as the same ownership group ran the first iterations of the Waterloo Black Hawks and Dubuque Fighting Saints. Citing rising costs along with low attendance, Owner Gallagher move the team to Tulsa, Oklahoma but the Tulsa Crude would only last one season in 2001-2002 before ceasing operations.
